Clear Aligners - Invisalign

Crooked teeth hinder your smile's appearance and increase the risk of dental issues like decay, gum disease, and jaw discomfort. Fortunately, clear aligners offer a discreet solution to straighten your teeth without brackets and metal wires.

What Are Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners, commonly referred to as Invisalign®, are custom orthodontic devices made from transparent plastic. They fit snugly over your teeth and work by applying gentle, controlled pressure to shift your teeth into their proper places.

You need to wear each tray of aligners for about two weeks before replacing it with the one in the series. As you progress through the aligner sets, your teeth gradually move closer to their desired positions. The process continues until your teeth are beautifully straightened.

Getting clear aligners or Invisalign at Georgetown Sedation Dentistry is a stress-free process for our patients.

How to Take Care of Your Clear Aligners

  • Wear aligners for 20-22 hours per day
  • Remove aligners when eating or drinking (except water)
  • Brush and floss your teeth before reinserting your aligners
  • Clean your aligners with a soft-bristled toothbrush and lukewarm water
  • Avoid exposing aligners to hot temperatures or harsh chemicals
  • Store aligners in their designated case when not in use

Are Clear Aligners Suitable for Everyone?

Clear aligners are a great option for many, but suitability varies. For example, clear aligners might not work well for fixing severe alignment issues or complex bite problems because they can't apply enough force to move the teeth as much as needed.

Lifestyle matters too – if you're forgetful or often remove them, they may not be the best fit either.
