Dr. Sam Muwafaq

Meet Dr. Sam, a dentist with a passion for changing lives through his work. He began his dental career by graduating at the top of his class from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Afterward, he completed a residency and fellowship at the UK Hospital in Lexington, KY, where he specialized in oral surgery.

Dr. Sam also worked at an oral surgery center for two years and was one of the lead dentists at Independence Family Dentistry. He’s an expert in several procedures, such as IV sedation, root canal therapy, and the removal of impacted wisdom teeth.

Beyond traditional dentistry, Dr. Sam is board-certified in cosmetic facial treatments like Botox® and dermal fillers. His incredible talent in implant dentistry and full-mouth rehabilitation has earned him praise across the country, making waves on different online platforms.

Dr. Sam’s dedication to his craft and, most importantly, to his patients, has made a real difference in people’s oral health. With his friendly, approachable nature and years of experience, Dr. Sam is on a mission to give each person who comes to see him the absolute best care possible.

Kellie Stephens, RDH, EDDA

Meet Kellie, our dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist. Kellie graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene from Bluegrass Community and Technical College in 2020 and is certified in local anesthetic, laser debridement, and periodontal therapy. Her commitment to the field extends beyond her professional practice; she has actively volunteered at Mission Lexington, local oral surgery offices, and the post clinic in Mt. Sterling.

Kellie’s journey in dentistry began in 2015 when she earned her certification in dental assisting from the Institute of Dental Technology. After completing an internship, she worked in Mt. Sterling until 2023, consistently demonstrating her passion for learning and her dedication to providing exceptional patient care. To further enhance her expertise, Kellie recently earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Northern Kentucky University.

With her extensive experience and enthusiasm for the latest advancements in dentistry, Kellie is committed to delivering a comfortable and positive experience for every patient.

Shelby Roth, EDDA

A proud resident of Northern Kentucky, Shelby is passionate about her role at Georgetown Sedation Dentistry, where she travels each day to be part of an extraordinary team. She graduated from the Institute of Dental Technology as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) and has over three years of invaluable experience assisting Dr. Sam.

Shelby’s expertise spans various aspects of dentistry, including fillings, crowns, extractions, and implants, and she is well-versed in IV sedation and full-mouth reconstructions. Her certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) ensures that she is prepared for any situation.

Driven by a love for learning and a desire to transform smiles, Shelby takes pride in providing patients with the confidence they deserve. Her dedication and skill make her an essential part of our practice, where she continues to make a positive impact every day.

Megan Rouse, EDDA

Megan is an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) who graduated from the Institute of Dental Technology and has been a dental assistant for the past two years. Trained by Dr. Sam and his colleagues, Megan has developed expertise in restorative dentistry, IV sedation, root canal procedures, implants dentistry and oral surgery. Her calm and reassuring demeanor consistently puts our patients at ease.

Megan’s dedication to continuing education has made her highly skilled in smile design, digital dental scanning, Cone Beam CT imaging, and advanced dental milling techniques. Her passion and proficiency guarantee that our patients receive the highest standard of care. We are thrilled to have such a talented professional like Megan on our team!

Geni Willoughby

Geni is an invaluable member of our team, bringing a wealth of experience and a positive attitude to her role as Front Desk Coordinator.

A graduate of Sullivan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Geni hails from Georgetown and has a strong background in oral surgery and sedation dentistry.

In her position, Geni excels at assisting patients with their needs, navigating insurance and financing options, and managing scheduling to ensure a smooth experience for patients. Her extensive knowledge of the dental field and genuine understanding of patient concerns make her an essential asset to our practice.

Bessie Lucia

With over 30 years of experience in the dental field, Bessie Lucia has dedicated her career to improving patient care and ensuring seamless dental office operations. She began her journey in pediatric dentistry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and later managed a high-volume dental practice in Chicago, IL, for over a decade.

In 2015, Bessie returned to KY, where she now serves as the Office Manager at Georgetown Sedation Dentistry. Bessie is passionate about helping patients maximize their insurance benefits and works diligently to ensure proper claim processing, treatment planning, and customized financial options. By providing personalized financial solutions and guidance, she strives to make dental treatment affordable for every patient, enabling them to achieve the healthy, beautiful smile they’ve always desired.

Outside of work, Bessie enjoys quality time with her family, friends, and her two beloved Yorkies, Smokie and Bandit.

Vicki Eversole, EDDA

Vicki’s warm and cheerful personality instantly puts patients at ease. With a passion for helping you feel confident about your smile, she brings a wealth of experience to our practice.

Vicki recently moved to Georgetown to join our wonderful team and be closer to family.
